Keynote: Next Generation Analytic Platforms – Autonomous Data Warehouse Cloud

George Trujillo, Oracle Corporation, Director of Global Enablement: Big Data, Cloud@Customer and Autonomous Database Cloud

Organizations need to eliminate the obstacles, barriers and complexity to gaining business insight from analytic platforms to stay competitive.  The Autonomous Data Warehouse Cloud (ADWC) is the next generation analytic platform that will significantly accelerate business insight.  The Autonomous Data Warehouse Cloud takes decades of Oracle automation to the next step with the world’s first self-driving database.  In this presentation, we will look at the Autonomous Data Warehouse Cloud and discuss Provisioning, Automated Management, Monitoring, Dynamic Scaling, Migration and Interface Tools.  The ADWC Management Console, Object Storage and Oracle Machine Learning will also be covered.

11:15 - 12:30: PDB Me, ASAP! Oracle 12cR2 Multitenant

Charles Kim, Viscosity North America, Co-Founder and President

Jim Czuprynski, Oracle Enterprise Architect, ViON Corporation

The latest release of Oracle Database (12cR2) incorporates significant upgrades to earlier multitenant features that dramatically expand their usefulness, especially in a hybrid cloud or converged cloud environment. Join us for this track as we discuss and demonstrate several key features of Oracle 12cR2 Multitenant, including:

  • Performing a Hot Clone of an existing PDB
  • Relocating a PDB without any disruption to your applications
  • Using Refreshable PDBs as “materialized” databases
  • Leveraging Proxy PDBs
  • Building PDBs as Application Containers (and why that’s useful)
  • Flashing back a Single PDB during recovery
  • Applying a Lockdown Profile to limit non-administrative access to a PDB
  • Applying DBRM restrictions to a PDB to control I/O, memory, and parallelism
11:15 - 12:30: Oracle Cloud On the Horizon

Rich Niemiec, Chief Innovation Officer, Viscosity North America

This presentation will cover Oracle’s Acceleration, especially with the Oracle Cloud, and the Cycles of Innovation in the world. We’ll look at a quick step by step PaaS example and how easy it is to use. We’ll then look at the current Acceleration of the Cloud, the Big Data Revolution. We’ll then look at the Internet of Things (IOT) which will drive Big Data and the Cloud even Faster.
