Viscosity Sessions: APEX Track
Scaling Up with Docker, Kubernetes, and APEX to Pattern Match the Genome
Monday June 11, 2018 | Session 4, 4:15 PM – 5:15 PM
Presenter: Jerry Ward
When: Monday June 11, 2018, Session 4, 4:15 PM – 5:15 PM
Room: Oceanic 2, Lobby/Third Level
Are you building a self-scaling and self-healing Dockerized microservices or fast data cluster for the life sciences or healthcare industry? Look no further than the blueprint for pattern matching at scale with the granularity, automation, redundancy, and real-time insights that only fast data orchestration can bring. This session looks at a real-life science case, searching the human genome for genetic patterns. You’ll see a comprehensive pattern matching application deployed in a Kubernetes cluster to illustrate the advantage of OCC for MSA and DevOps. We will then build an Application Express web app to visualize the matched genomic traits.
Join us at our special event on Monday night of Kscope following Community Night.
