What’s New in Oracle 18c & 19c
Oracle Database 18c was released in Oracle Cloud in February 2018.  Oracle made the software available to on-premise customers in July 2018. Oracle Database 18c packs ton of new features for enterprise customers.  Oracle continues to deliver new  functionality that’s only available to their flagship product.  Come see what makes Oracle Database 18c the leader in the magic quadrant.  Learn why you should consider upgrading directly to Oracle Database 18c.
This presentation will look at which 18c new features should be investigated for use. Most of the features that will be covered will be related to the DBA, but there will also be a few outside that realm that focus on the developer. Viscosity has been actively involved in the Beta program over many versions of Oracle.  Overview of new features include:
  • Multitenant Advancements
    • PDB enhanced security
    • PDB enhanced high availability
  • Zero Impact Grid Infrastructure Patching
  • Data Guard Enhancements
  • ASM and ACFS Enhancements
  • Private Temporary Tables
  • Scalable Sequences
  • New Installation Support
  • 18cXE innovations
  • Docker Support

You will also learn how to modernize legacy technology infrastructure and help reduce total IT operating expenditures with the Oracle Database Appliance.
